Please join us for a Parent-Teacher Conference on Friday, October 4th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. Your child’s Homeroom will be available from 5:00pm – 6:00pm (K-2) and 6:00pm – 7:00pm (3-5). At this time, the Homeroom Teachers will provide you with up-to-date academic growth on your child. A brief presentation will be held to help you learn how to read the MAP results and to see your child’s growth since last year. The teachers will address all parents at once. They will discuss classroom expectations, schedules, and pertinent data. Map and STARR information for grade levels affected. If you would like a one-on-one conference, there will be a sign up at this event. You can also sign up for a home visit.

 

 

We want to remind all families that picture retakes are tomorrow, September 30. All students will be allowed to retake their Fall pictures. In order to accommodate this, students are allowed a FREE DRESS day tomorrow. Please make sure that the free dress chosen is within the dress code outlined below.

Dress Code on Free Dress Days (p. 19 of the student handbook)
All general guidelines for dress apply on free dress days, even
though school uniforms are not mandatory. Garments must be
free of holes, tears, inappropriate wording, logos, messages or
advertising. No short, skin tight, or legging dresses, or skirts may be worn. All dresses must have sleeves. Students may not wear low cut, midriff-baring, or backless blouses. Students may wear jeans, but they cannot be tight pants including jeggings, tights or skinny style pants. Clothing items must not depict images of violence. Parents will be called to bring a change of clothes or pick up a child if he or she violates the dress code.

It is very important to us here at Harmony School of Innovation that we find ways to communicate with each other to support your involvement in your child’s education. This year I am organizing home visits drive on Saturday, September 21st. I would like to set up a time so teachers, admins, and coordinators come to your home for a brief 20-minute visit. We would like to learn more about you, your family and your hopes and dreams for your child’s education.

Have fun with chemistry at an exciting iSTEM Academy hands-on learning lab! Immerse your children in maker experiences that are fun and educational all at once. Students make a crystal garden, synthesize their own slime, learn about our solar system by making a comet with everyday items, and have a shocking time with a Van de Graaff generator by experiencing lightning up close!

CODE:BOT
For grades 3-5
The CODE:BOT program is our newest generation program, created to bring personalized, small-group experiences to your kids in a fun, educational, and high-energy setting.
Children will start with the basics of block-based coding and apply these concepts to their real-life robots! Our Mad Science instructor will lead the way as your child steps into a world filled with technology. Students will get a personalized cloud portal to write code and to program their robots. Students progress at their own pace through introductory, intermediate, advanced, and mastery levels.
