Our student re-enrollment period began December 1st 2017 and will end, January 12th, 2017. You will need to complete our re-enrollment form that has been sent home with your son/daughter, you must turn it in during this time frame in order for your student to attend HSA next school year. Without this, your student will have to re-apply for a spot to attend HSA all over again. This year, you will also be required to turn in a current proof of residency with your re-enrollment form. No PO Boxes will be accepted! Some have turned in the re-enrollment form, but not a proof of residency. All proof must be dated with a date no more than 6o days old prior to December 1, 2017.

Examples of acceptable proof of residencies:
· A recently paid rent receipt.
· A current lease or mortgage agreement.
· The most recent tax receipt indicating home ownership.
· A current utility bill indicating the address and name of the residence occupiers.
· Mailing address of the residence occupiers listed on Skyward database.
· Cable bill or insurance billing statement with a date.
· Date on bill must be no more than 60 days old.

Examples of non-acceptable proof of residencies:
· P.O. Box cannot be listed as an address.
· A copy of the front of an envelope.
· Health & Human services eligibility letter.
· Past due or renewal notices for utilities or magazine offers.
· Doctor bill statements.
· No junk mail.
· Bank or Credit card statements.
· Car insurance card (unless a dated billing statement) or registration notice.

Harmony Giving Day 2017

Harmony staff, teachers, and administrators have spent countless of hours preparing our students for college and each year approximately 85% of our graduating class enrolled in a post-secondary institution.

But, despite these impressive enrollment numbers, far too many of our low income and first-time college students drop out as they hit financial and circumstantial barriers such as the cost of attending college, that has increased by 36% in the last 10 years. Harmony Public Schools has 5,033 graduates to date and is projected to have 11,686 graduates by 2020, current funding sources are unable to meet even the current demands of these programs. Clearly, additional financial support is required.

We are asking our Harmony community to consider going beyond educational efforts, providing even greater assistance to our graduates through generous Harmony Giving Day contributions to the Harmony College Fund. All your donations will go towards helping our Harmony graduates to complete their higher education dreams and achieve their career aspirations by providing additional scholarships and direct college and career support services.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: No School Monday November 27th!!

We regret to inform you that Harmony School of Innovation Carrollton will be closed Monday November 27th. Our campus had a water main break in the sprinkler system that has caused significant damage.

Contractors are on site now working to repair damages and prepare the school for students. We understand this is short notice, and assure you that our goal is to provide families with as much notice as possible to make arrangements for tomorrow. We apologize for any inconvenience that this causes your family, and assure you we are working to get our campus back on schedule. We will provide an update by Monday afternoon about whether school will be ready and open on Tuesday. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Gifted and Talented Education Announcement

In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students, Harmony Public Schools will begin taking nominations for kindergarten and newly-enrolled students in grades 1-12 for gifted and talented screening. Effective September 1, 2017, anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may nominate them for assessment.

Nomination forms are available at the front office and on the school’s web site. The forms must be returned to the front office by Friday, September 29, 2017. Assessment will begin on Monday, October 2, 2017. For more information about the screening and identification process, parents may contact the school’s GT Coach/teacher.

PS: Due to Hurricane Harvey, all Houston campuses will be accepting nominations until October 11th.
